Welcome to our…
Mountain View Orthodontic Website!

ANNOUNCEMENT (UPDATED 6/1/2020):

To our dear patients and families,

We hope this letter finds you and your families in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. As of today, June 1, 2020, we have returned to our regular business hours. We are open Monday through Thursday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety. Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your prior visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it's both safe and comfortable.  We follow recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and keep up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.

We have made some changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example:

  • Our office will communicate with you the day before your appointment to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you arrive at the office.
  • When you arrive for your appointment, we ask that any companions wait outside the office or in the car during your appointment to reduce the number of people in the office. If a parent must come in with a child, only one parent per family will be allowed.
  • We are asking everyone over the age of 2 to please wear a mask before entering our office.
  • We will take your temperature with a touchless thermometer. Anyone exhibiting an elevated temperature will be rescheduled.
  • We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.
  • As we take you back to an operatory for your appointment, we will ask you to use a disinfectant mouth rinse.
  • To minimize and remove droplets and aerosols, we will utilize high power suction during any procedures that create aerosolized particles.
  • Before seeing each patient, all clinical staff will wear proper PPEs (including a gown, gloves, N95 mask, and face shield) as well as disinfect their hands.
  • You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
  • Appointments will also be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.
  • Staff members will have their temperature checked daily. Any staff members experiencing flu-like symptoms will be required to stay home and not come to work.
  • We have installed a UV-C light unit in the ductwork of our central air system to scrub the air as it passes by, eliminating viruses and bacteria. We also have portable air filtration units that clean the office air throughout the day.
  • We will clean all the treatment-room surfaces after each patient with hospital-grade disinfectants that kill 99.9% of bacteria, spores and viruses. We will regularly clean the lobby and reception room, bathrooms, door knobs and seat handles with disinfectants. We have also installed sneeze shields in the reception area.

We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call our office at (650) 961-5047 or email us at fantasticortho@gmail.com.

While we are taking every precaution possible for the safety of our patients and team members, if you prefer not to come in person to the office just yet, we understand. Please let us know right away, and our front office team can help you to postpone or reschedule your appointment. Please note that we are also offering virtual appointment options for some types of procedures.

Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors, and friends.

Sincerely,

Dr. Nahal Ashouri & Team

  • We will treat you like our own family.
  • We will help you keep your teeth for the rest of your life.

Not so long ago, orthodontic braces were used to treat malocclusion and other dental issues in young children. Today, with increasing realization of the benefits of good teeth and jaw structure, up to 40% of our practice of orthodontics consists in treating adults. The ages of these adults are not confined to early forties or fifties either. Grandparents, senior citizens and even senior-senior citizens are visiting orthodontists in increasing numbers to get their crooked teeth corrected. Many adults choose Invisalign braces as it is very comfortable and convenient. These truly invisable braces can do much more today than they could a few years ago. We can fix underbites, overbites, crossbites, and many other problems with Invisalign braces today.

Benefits from Orthodontics

Orthodontics can do more than just improve your smile. It also can give your teeth better function and gum health. When teeth are crowded or misaligned, it is harder to keep them from getting tooth decay or gum disease. In addition, a bad bite can cause your teeth to become loose and eventually fall out.

Another benefit of orthodontic therapy is an improvement in your facial appearance. If a patient has a prominent lower jaw, or a retruded chin, for example, orthodontics can correct this. And, if a patient's bite contributes to problems in their jaw joint, then this can be corrected also.

Finally, missing teeth, unerupted teeth, and wisdom teeth can all be managed by an orthodontist. Through the coordinated services of an oral surgeon, your general dentist, and our Mountain View Orthodontic office, what could otherwise be an unhealthy bite can be corrected. Many of the procedures that we had to use full braces for in the past can now be treated by Invisalign (Invisaline).
